Offense Meta is ruining strategic gameplay

I get your frustration, there has been so much emphasis put on attacking, that the defensive side of the game has been non existent, and with this latest update it has become worse. Ball rolls, skill moves and this annoying twist and turns are overused as the defensive side is just slow and useless, my defensive players are looking like mere spectators...and the worst part of this is the barging of players off the ball and rebounds.
The initial build up play was the best thing they could have implemented, but as usual development and updates just messed everything up.
