@blue166 The skill gap in lower divisions are mainly casuals who don't use tactics, spam jockey, second man press etc. On a new account I went undefeated from div 10 into Div 7 only using players I packed untradeable.
Once in Div 7, the shift in difficulty increased significantly. And I messaged people yesterday I played 4 or 5 people in a row between Div 5-3 with monster teams. These people are more plugged into the game.
The brutal truth is custom tactics, being able to put codes to quickly obtain whatever the meta tactic of the month is has destroyed the playability of this game. It's just not fun. It's so generic. The same style of match over and over and over again.
It's like last year when word got out about 70 depth (High defensive press from the front).

@Tauntmatt Custom tactic codes should not have been implemented. That certainly should be a manual process.
I know most of what you mention gameplay wise is UT related if I am right in saying? Do you think with me playing Seasons I'm not seeing to the full extent just what is happening in your mode? Is everything more over exaggerated in UT perhaps? With all the speed and obsession people have with skill moves... ?

- @blue166 To me ut pushes the meta and game boundaries more. Everyone is going to be 99 pace soon able to pass and shoot. People are already saying the patch made the game faster. I don’t think that is true unless I missed it in the patch notes. Matchmaking is much more competitive based in ut correct? You can also search manual in seasons? I am not that familiar with it but ut nobody uses manual for offense for defense you have to.
- @RadioShaqs The defending is barley manual. Its all about pressing or dropping back. the only thing the user in control of is the player they control which is usually a cdm or striker and then using the r1/rb or r1/rb(x2) for the ai to help out. player switching only works when the gameplay is at its best.
- @lansenyl It’s much more manual than offense. Play a game with manual offense and tell me how well you do? It’s hard it actually takes skill. It’s why I don’t doubt it’s the community not ea that chooses that. If you want change that’s what needs to happen. Year after year defense gets nerfed.
If you want to win you need to play manual defense. If you want to win on offense whatever you do don’t play manual offense.
All the pros play manual defense not one will play manual offense. I am not knocking them if anyone asked I would say don’t play manual offense if you want to win.
But I mean come on it can’t be competitive and not have manual offense. It would be like playing cod and you don’t have to aim or pull the trigger. Maybe cod isn’t competitive enough but like csgo.

I'm not sure. I just know in UT you get endless low-block defenses in the box, weird deflections/rebounds, insane GK moving, high pressure on the frontline, people using pacy wingers as box to box players, attackers that can't shift their weight & avoid tackles, weird stuttering/pivoting tackles, people spamming tackles when you're not even near them, me running past Forwards with poacher & advanced forward player roles, midfielders standing still, Forwards running away from a goal keeper spillage, broken collision mechanics where forwards run into defences, forwards standing still behind markers etc.
