The Gameplay Is A Disaster. I'll Tell You Why in Detail.
The gameplay update after the gameplay refresh update – very ironically - is a disaster. I will tell you why in detail below with video examples.
Please note that I am complaining about this here because most of the problems did not occur in the initial versions of this game. In other words, you can fix these problems if you are willing to.
Note that all the examples were recorded with the following configurations:
- Mode: single manager career mode (ManUtd)
- Difficulty: legendary
- Slider: simulation mode (weather effect off)
A. Body & Foot Position
This problem is one of the most serious problems that makes the game really unrealistic. Look at the example video below.
De Jong passes to a winger, and the winger passes back to the center back. Look at the center back's body position–he is looking upward. And look at how he passes to De Jong. He isn't turning his body, and passes the ball with awkward inside motion. And then, he receives the ball with heel not even looking at the ball. This never happens in real-world.
So, what would be the correct motion? The center back's body should have been headed towards the leftward (attacking direction), and passed to De Jong with inside foot. I attach another video that shows this problem.
Again, this problem did not occur or was not particularly irritating in the initial versions.
B. Defense Problem
After the update, the defense became increasingly weird. Let's look at the examples.
In this video, until the forward takes the shot, no defender tries to stop him even though the situation is urgent. As a result, I scored a lot of goals (e.g., 5 goals in the first half with legendary difficulty), which makes the game very unrealistic.
Here's another video that shows a different issue. Look at the defensive line. It's way too low. Additionally, no midfielder helped the defensive line. As a result, shooting is free. I scored 5 goals in the first half with legendary difficulty. I turned off the game immediately.
And you can see the body & foot position problem here again. Take a look at how the winger gives a return pass. Outside pass with left foot. In professional football games, it never happens.
C. Skating
I liked the initial versions because the players were heavy; they didn’t feel floaty. But right after the gameplay refresh update, they became very floaty. The players feel like they are skating.
In real football games, the successive rate of dribble is very low; even Ronaldinho had 40% of dribble success rate. Therefore, I believe the first approach you took was the right direction. The goal must be made by passes and tactics rather than dribble. Dribbling should be just an option.
The players respond too sensitively to my joystick, making the dribbling feel too twitchy and overly reactive.
I understand a large number of players want faster players and more dribbles. In this case, I propose two solutions.
First, clearly distinguish classic mode from simulation mode with defined slider values. Second, don't listen to the players, because they need to learn how to play with passes and tactics; that's football.
In conclusion, I very much miss the old versions as they were providing a very realistic football experience to me. I feel like a kid whose piece of cake was stolen by someone
Again, these problems did not exist in the initial versions (and I remember TU#7 was quite okay).
Please fix the problems as soon as possible.
