There should be a boycott. This game is not playable.

EA Sports FC 25 has been a massive disappointment for football gaming fans, and it’s not hard to see why. After years of FIFA titles that at least had some semblance of charm despite their flaws, FC25 feels like a step backward in almost every way imaginable. From its lazy design choices to its blatant cash-grab mechanics, this game has left players frustrated and questioning whether EA even cares about its audience anymore.

First off, the gameplay is a mess. While EA promised a "new era" of football gaming after dropping the FIFA name, what we got was a recycled engine with clunky mechanics and unresponsive controls. Passing feels inconsistent—sometimes the ball zips to the wrong player, other times it crawls at a snail’s pace, leaving your striker stranded. The AI is another disaster: defenders routinely forget how to mark opponents, and goalkeepers either pull off impossible saves or let in the weakest shots like they’re half-asleep. It’s not tactical or skillful; it’s just random chaos masquerading as a simulation.

Then there’s Ultimate Team, which somehow gets worse every year. FC25 doubles down on the pay-to-win model that’s plagued the series for ages. The pack odds are abysmal—spending real money on points rarely gets you anything worthwhile, and the grind for coins is so tedious that it feels like a second job. New "Evolutions" and "Objectives" sound exciting on paper, but they’re just thinly veiled excuses to keep you chasing microtransactions. EA’s focus is clearly on draining wallets rather than delivering a fair, enjoyable experience. And don’t even get me started on the servers—laggy, unreliable, and prone to disconnects at the worst possible moments. Good luck staying competitive when your players are stuck sliding around like they’re on ice.

Visually, it’s underwhelming too. Sure, the player models look decent if you squint, but the animations are stiff and recycled from years past. Stadiums lack atmosphere, crowd chants are repetitive, and the menus are a sluggish nightmare to navigate. For a game released in 2024, it’s shocking how dated it feels next to competitors who actually innovate. The "HyperMotion" tech they keep hyping up? It’s just marketing jargon for slightly less robotic dribbling that still doesn’t hold a candle to real football fluidity.

The career mode, which used to be a saving grace for offline players, is another letdown. It’s barely been touched since last year—same bugs, same shallow press conferences, same predictable transfer market. Youth academy players still come with ridiculous names and stats that make no sense, and the lack of depth in managing your club is laughable. Where’s the creativity? Where’s the overhaul fans have begged for? EA seems content to let it rot while funneling all their effort into online modes that rake in more profit.

And the bugs—oh, the bugs. From players teleporting across the pitch to matches crashing mid-save, FC25 feels like it was rushed out the door without proper testing. Community forums are flooded with complaints about broken mechanics, like the referee calling fouls that never happened or the ball physics defying all logic. It’s not just sloppy; it’s disrespectful to fans who shelled out full price for what feels like a beta.

In short, FC25 is a soulless, half-baked cash cow that proves EA’s priorities lie with shareholders, not gamers. It’s not a love letter to football—it’s a middle finger to anyone who hoped for better. If you’re looking for a fun, fair, or polished football game, you’re better off dusting off an older title or waiting for a miracle patch that’ll probably never come. Trust me, this one’s not worth your time or money.

  • In my last 2 games I got 4 red cards, first 2 I don't understand what happened. I looked up and the red card was next to score. Then I got another for absolutely nothing. I won the ball, ref gave obstruction and sent me off. Then another for a tackle that led to a goal for them, and my player gets sent off as well. The last one was a rage foul. I cannot understand what is going on with this game, honestly. I'm losing to absolute basic players. Stop influencing my games, let me play fair. If the other player is inferior, match him against someone his level. It's just a waste of time.

What on earth has happened to player switching? It's all over the place

  • The delay is the worst I have ever seen it in any Fifa title. I played fifa 03 at an arcade at the weekend. Genuinely, it was a delight in comparison. Sure, the game is jank as all hell, but at least players responded when I pressed a button lmao.

  • Unbelivle that a "company" like Ea cant afford to invest in servers and also unbelivle that they are allowed to sell a product that is complete unplayble...
