I completely agree with you. IMO, the initial versions of this game were quite good. Even though they were not perfect, but at least I felt like playing football as you described: pass play, midfield battles, and tactics.
I remember this game became more like a speed battle since TU6 (the first frost update). Suddenly, players started to skate, motions became weird and unnatural, pass became too accurate (players made a lot of mistakes so the good players were valuable in the initial versions), and so on.
Why EA repeatedly ruins its game although they released the first game very well? A promising hypothesis in my mind is that they are afraid of user feedback too much, and a few people who don't know about real football complain very much; I think they just want to score with speedstars like Mbappe, because they don't know how to score goals using passes and tactics like in the real world football games.
To EA Sports, please remember the initial philosophy of EA FC 25. When you introduced FC IQ, you mentioned that understanding tactics make games much funnier.
