Spot on. It's almost a scam that EA are running. I didn't buy FIFA for 3 years because of this very reason where they made the gameplay more unrealistic after each update.
I am no legal expert and don't have the time to research but I might be tempted to see what the trading standards say when you sell customers one product and then change the core of that product significantly.
Luckily, I have the disc version so I have deleted the game and reinstalled and playing on the release patch which even with it's flaws is far better than this ping pong nonsense.
