What do the colours mean in Player Roles?

What do the colours on certain positions mean in Player Roles?

I know that the hexagon in the corner means your staff familiarity, but what do the colours in the background of each player? I have seen brown, grey, blue and no colour at all.

I’ve looked everywhere and nowhere explains.

Any explanation would be appreciated.
