As stated in original message, start of the game. Fed up with it being a constant thing with slow players catching up fast players for no reason. Given up hoping an actual ea representative will reply with an actual reason
All UT ever did was fuel a game mode all about pace. Pace is supposed to be a luxury in certain areas of the pitch (usually out wide or striker down the middle). But UT made everyone believe football is only about speed.
IRL there are so many factors to a football match and pace is only a part of it. Interesting how players like Pirlo, Modric etc... are received as greats yet UT would make you think otherwise since they don't have 99 pace.
This game mode has brainwashed people. UT is not football it's olympic sprinting.
Tbh I only play Seasons anyway. But UT has always bugged me for the whole pace is everything. Yuck. It represents 0 football and watching people skilling constantly from within their own half... well, just silly really.

All true, but in real life pirlo on his best day isn’t catching a Henry or mbappe, yet on UT it happens far too often

I only play seasons and noticed that Carvajal is catching up on Vini Jr many times.
Pace on the ball is generally slower than past years, especially on long balls.
Although some people with perfect connection can make every player burst past you as they perfectly time speed boosts. It's very frustrating.

This has been a thing since they reworked pace after FIFA 15. 16 had loads of moments where Pique types could catch Cristiano Ronaldo. Now there's a whole new issue where the Attackers sometimes just run in place or slow down enough to make Ruben Dias look like an Olympic sprinter.
It's like there's "catch up" on defenders. Similar to how racing games either speed up or slow down cars to keep the games balanced and competitive.
