I agree. The gameplay starts promisingly and then gets patched to death. But here are a couple of fundementals in football that just don't seem to be central to EA devs study of the game:
1 - most shots at goal in professional football are below waist height of the goalkeeper
2 - There are very few top corner goals in real football
3 - Players that are clean through on goal a) do not shoot from the D and b) don't go for total power and blast the ball but place/pass it in
4 - Many assists to goal (32%) come from wide areas rather than straight through passes from behind the goalscorer.
5 - Between 5-10% of goals in professional football are deflected goals.
6 - In penalty situations, goalkeepers guess and dive early and NEVER dive towards the top corner
EA devs could start very easily with building that into the game.
