I don't know man. They spotlight these people & provide codes to emulate their tactics. This is EA admitting tactics>>>>>everything else. They know full well this game is completely imbalanced.
For me my philosophy when it comes to tactics is there supposed to aid you in playing the way you want, not become an overriding factor in it.
And I just think if you're a pro, making bank of this low tier game, would you really want it to have a complete overhaul & potentially affect your income? In the end they have an invested interest in upholding the current status quo & the rest of us have to play game which does nothing more than LARP as a football game.
@Tauntmatt They have simplified tactics every year. I actually thought on ball and off ball was going to give you more freedom but it doesn’t. They might as well remove them at the rate we are going.
Although I don’t think it’s the worst fifa. I’ve never seen so many people say they like this game. It’s like the forum got turned on its head. I am arguing for less game and others are demanding we go back to 40 games in all the modes because they like it so much. Never saw that in past years. It’s actually shocking.

THIS IS THE WORST REVIEWED GAME TO COME OUT OF THIS STUDIO! - @RadioShaqs I don't think so. We will see what happens when there's a real competitor on the market, how many people decide to stick around. One thing I will give EA is the format of FUT is great in terms of rewards, cards etc.
Well however you want to put it, Custom Tactics have completely guttered this game. If you try to play more than 3/4 passes, make it past the stupid high pressing defensive gods like Neymar you're staring the barrel of 8 A.I. controlled defenders skiing around the pitch blocking, intercepting & generally putting in some of the most ridiculous tackles I've ever seen. The last game the person I played put in 111 tackles and completed 15, he's just spamming tackles all game, no consequences. The purpose is to cause my attackers to do a wonky animation so they lose the ball and he can hit a quick through ball. Missing all these tackles doesn't even get 1 yellow card. Me I put in 53 and completed 31. I completed 232 passes vs his 93 because all he did was hit driven through balls from the edge of the box whenever he got the usual deflection, rebound, gk spillage go his way because he has his whole team camping in the box. How's he score? The typical I tackle him with my CB, his forward instantly wins the ball back while my player freezes completely and just hit's some bargain basement gimmicky finesse shot with Griezmann because in champs you're playing 15 games against either Son, Griezmann or Thuram. They can't even patch finesse shots because then nearly every game will some 0-0 or 1-1 draw after 120 mins.

It's nearly everyone because it's effective and there's very little downside because everyone knows how hard it is to break through the defense once there set in the box. This is just a horrible game, I really do hate it not because I lose or whatever but because it's the same garbage over and over. Rarely am I sitting here going wow nice goal it's some jammy, rickety, cheap goal partly because the mechanics enable the most toxic play.
This is why I'd argue this is one of the worst AAA games I've ever played.
