EA Anti-CHeat causing huge delay on PC

If I delete, repair, and then mark the files found in C:\Program Files\EA\AC as read only, I get good performance for a couple of matches. After a while, the read-only is removed & the delay is back. Delay is usually around 500ms, which renders the game unplayable.

This is not a connection issue. I have 2gb down, I only play matches with under 15 ping, and there is no jitter on my network.

Nor is it an issue with my PC: 5800X3D, 64gb ram @ 4000Mhz, 7900XTX and the game resides on a new M.2.

The only time I see the problem, is when those files are not marked as read-only. What is going on here?
