EA FC 25 Disconnections with Deco X20

EAFC 25 Disconnections with Deco X20 Mesh 

I am experiencing consistent disconnections in EAFC 25 while using a TP-Link Deco X20 mesh Wi-Fi system. The disconnections occur at two specific points:

  1. Just as the game is about to show both teams on the pitch before kickoff.
  2. Immediately after kickoff.

These disconnections happen despite no apparent loss of connection to the EA servers. I am kicked out of the match and receive a "DNF" (Did Not Finish) result, which is increasing my DNF multiplier even though the games are not reaching the point of starting properly. This is incredibly frustrating.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

I am a network engineer and have extensive experience troubleshooting network issues. I have already tried various solutions, including:

  • Different DNS settings (Google DNS, Cloudflare DNS)
  • Setting the Deco X20 in both Router mode and Access Point (AP) mode
  • Checking for and installing the latest firmware updates on the Deco X20
  • PC is already connected to the Deco via Ethernet
  • Disabling and enabling QoS and Fast Roaming on the Deco X20 even though neither should cause any issues. 
  • There is 1 device on the entire network to test in isolation, no difference.
  • Connection history on all games has been exactly the same, all listed as good with no issues with packet loss. 

Request for Assistance:

Despite my efforts, I have been unable to pinpoint the root cause of these disconnections. I have seen other players reporting similar issues with the Deco X20, suggesting a potential compatibility problem between EAFC 25 and this mesh Wi-Fi system.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide. I am open to trying any further troubleshooting steps or providing any additional information that may help resolve this issue.

  • This is a huge issue for me too, there is a fix and that is to play with a VPN but this solution makes the game feel so bad ☹️

  • I have the exact same issue on my ps5 (fc25) and had it since fc24 when the disconnection problem in Rivals & WL started in April 2024.

    Have you tried playing while connecting your ps5 directly (ethernet or wifi) to your ISP broadband router?

    same issue with the deco , connecting to the main modum downstairs works fine but cant do that because my setup is in the attic , does anyone have a fix ? im playing on ps5 ? 

  • Same issue here. Deco X20. Can't believe this issue still hasn't been resolved. Seems like a lot of us have this set up.

    Sou do Brasil e estou enfrentando o mesmo problema com o FC 25 e os roteadores TP-LINK M4. Entrei em contato com o suporte da TP-Link diversas vezes via chat e não tinham identificado o problema. Vou entrar em contato novamente e informar esse link dos foruns da TP-Link.
