Error communicating with the football ultimate team servers

Hi - I have had an issue for a week now where I get an error saying 'There was an error communicating with the football team servers. Please try again' when I try to access a squad battles, rivals or anything in ultimate team.

I have rebooted my router, connected with Ethernet, changed my DNS to Google and Cloudflare, tried a different internet connection and my mobile hotspot....and I still get the same error. 

I have contacted EA, who told me they have no fighter troubleshooting that can be done, which i haven't already done. Can anyone advise on what the issue is and how I can fix it?
