FC25 only has 7 or 8 teams to pick from. Please help

Hello all 

My 8 year old son got FC 25 for Christmas and got FC 24 last year. This is for the Nintendo switch. When he plays the game he only has option of 7 or 8 teams to play with/choose from. 

Where are all the other teams and how does one open the access to these?

This is NOT when trying to play online. The game only came with 7 or 8 teams on it to choose from and play against. 

It's highly frustrating and I can't find anything online anywhere About this issue.

Really grateful if anyone could advise how to get the game to work to it's full capability.

The same happened FC24.
