Well... hate to tell this but it seems it's not EA who is responsible...
Now, my PC started to do this even without entering the game; it just takes some random time to do it in Windows, too.
The strange part: If I start EA FC 25 it happens after a few minutes, but when playing WoW even after 1 hour it never happens...
Just browsing in Windows sometimes doesn't happen; other times it occurs in less than 30 minutes.
No updates made to anything that match the start of the issue, the only updates made was in windows update on the 14th of January (KB5050009), but the issue only started in the weekend after... so no clue...
It is definitely not my PC. I play a lot of games for hours at a time, like the new COD for instance, which is very intensive compared to FC 25.
I have a seperate display to just show me my CPU & GPU temps ETC.
When I play FC25, they don't spike above 70 degrees ever.
If you are getting it out of the game then i’m aorry to hear that, whereas I am only getting it on FC25 & no other time.
I noticed that my PC only ever turns off when I either get a freekick, a penalty, or the game is in some sort of animation / pause menu whilst in game. When i’m actually kicking the ball about it does not crash, whereas it always crashes in an animation (going to pick up the ball to take a throw in) or (half time when it’s showing the half time score).
That is not a coincidence & something is causing that to shut down at that very point. Multiple times now, I have scored a free kick, and the moment the ball hits the back of the net and my player is about to run & celebrate, my PC is off.
I’ve paid for a game that I can’t play.

It could be the EA anti cheat, but I tried uninstalling it last night & re installing it, also repairing it. It did not fix it.
But possibly the EA anti cheat is interfering with something we have on our computer. I don’t think thats the case cause I have nothing running when I turn my PC on.
I realised aswell, we all have Gigabyte motherboards, i’m hoping thats just a coincidence and not the reason this is happening, could be possibly interfering with the BIOS but thats a reach.
if anyone finds any leads as to what could be causing it please post here, I was troubleshooting for hours last night but came to a dead end.
REASON I KNOW ITS NOT HARDWARE -
I stress tested every component last night under max load for 5 minutes at a time.
I stress tested:
-GPU
-CPU
-MEMORY
-POWER
-DRAM
Everything came back perfect with good temps.
This confirms this is in fact something to do with the game itself or the anti cheat.

Ok I went nuclear since it started to get worst and was happening in all games just a few moments after starting.
format everything, new install of windows 11 with only bitdefender, nvidia drivers and ea fc 25.
been running for 1 hour without issues. Will do the test for 1 day and then install all windows updates (less the ones related to nvidia or stuff not required)
