I have found the work around only works if you go into manage game and delete the save file. Bit annoying to do each time but I have found. 

click the start: menu button and select manage game.

delete save file for game ( not entire game) at bottom of list.  

reset xbox 

follow steps as above 

this works at least half the time.

really annoying but at least you can get in to the game
