I'm assuming you're on PC.

The first issue sounds like your mouse cursor is on the screen and it will actively select things. I move the mouse to the top middle of my monitor as it bugs out if anywhere else. It's beyond me how it's an issue but, it's EA.

The freezing issue could be anything. You need to do some basic troubleshooting and post your findings. What hardware did you change? What are your PC specs?
