The ping I get in Rivals nearly doubled after downloading new patch

Yesterday I was getting games at 40 ms which isn't great. I have good internet but am not located very close to an EA server. Today I load the game and there is a small update I am forced to download...

After today's update my ping doubled from 14 ms to 30 ms, right after today's patch  Update #11, this happens with every player. My internet is the same and works fine with other games. I am in Poland with good (perfect) connectivity on cable
