Cannot connect to the ultimate team servers

I can load into ultimate team fine and go through all the menus fine but as soon as I try load into a division rivals or fut champions game it says Connecting to the ultimate team servers isn’t possible right now. Returning you to the main menu now. 
why is this happening I’ve tried everything that it says to do online and just isn’t working. Been sat trying for 3 hours now and no fix so what’s going on ? !
