Golden goal is much better, but if all players would just adopt the gentlemans agreement to quit when the other player scores it wouldn't be an issue. Some players are just ridiculously stubborn though, I've had people stay in the game and go 2-1 up then pause to try get me to leave. That's the only time I refuse to quit after my opponent takes the lead, it's also great fun when it backfires on those people.
