Frozen in UT player pick

Please could someone help me? My son plays fifa on switch and  there appears to be a glitch with UT. 

When trying to open UT we get stuck on a blank screen that says ITEM PICK with nothing else and it freezes (see pic) 

So far we have tried- 

• closing game
• Docking it 
• Clearing cache 
• Checking for system errors on game and on switch itself 
• Made sure all connected to internet 
• Checked latest software for switch and fifa installed 
• Checked for any bugs 

It has been like this for 5 days now with no improvement. I am little wary about reinstalling the game in case it deletes all of his teams etc. It’s a game card not downloaded game. 

Please could someone help me?
