Missing players

How frequently are players added, and if a player isn't in ultimate team who has been at the club all season, is there any chance he'll appear?

The two players I am most interested in are Calum Kavanagh, who I understand is in career mode, but not ultimate team, and Romoney Crichlow, who only seems to be available linked to Peterborough still.
