There could be multiple reasons.
1. If your son purchased Fifa coins from external sites, then this is against EA games policy. You could have received a transfer market ban. Check your email if you have received any kind of ban.
2. If it's not Fifa coins, and you purchased a pack using FC points, then check which pack you opened? Is it a Tradeable or Untradeable pack? You can list only tradeable players on the transfer market to sell them. You can check if a player is tradeable or not using a player bio.
If you are still struggling to identify why you can not sell them, then attach screenshots of players. Maybe someone from the community might be able to point out any mistakes.
