Rivals Div ranking system

I was recently promoted to Division 2, but after my first loss in this division, I was immediately demoted back to Division 3. Considering we are still in the middle of the season, I was expecting more matches before any changes to my division status.Could you please clarify if this is part of the standard ranking system? I would appreciate any explanation regarding how the promotion and demotion rules work in this case.
