Unable to Switch between players in Rivals

i am used to playing FIFA using keyboard and hence continue to do so.. Only in rivals  game mode , am unable to switch from one player to another while defending .. The same button ( I have mapped it to 'e' ) is tagged to 'trigger player run' during attack and even that doesn't work .

I have tried tweaking various settings but to my frustration, nothing solved this issue. Not sure what I am missing here.

Although the on screen controller display shows that I am pressing the L1 button, so I think nothing wrong with my keyboard.

But this player switching and trigger runs works fine when I play squad battles or other offline modes.. 
Have attached my "Siwtching" related settings, Kindly take a look please. Grateful for the suggestions , TIA.
