Did you really just say Timed Finishing preserves immersive realism? Yeah because in real life players have a meter above their head, increasing their shot power and accuracy with the push of a button. Though it may be skill based, the skill required to master it is minimal. It's essentially just tapping a button twice.

EA are encouraging players to use precision shooting, where players will have to choose the right shot type in different situations.  Adding decision- based skill, which is far more skill based than this mechanic. It's the right move.
