Laggy gameplay.......again

I play on PS5, I have average 900mbps download 90 upload via Virgin 5x hub. I have a static IP and port forwarding. I am connected with ethernet cable. The game is slow in all modes but in Ultimate Team the game is sluggish to respond, sometimes 2 - 3 seconds if not more. This makes it almost impossible to play the game properly. This seems to be a feature of the last couple of FCs, I was hoping game lag would have been seriously reduced, understand it at busy times but there seems to be at all times for me. Is this a server issue? Opposition teams are proactive, close me down quickly, sit back and defend when needed. I understand the changes to make it more user controlled but my players do nothing compared to others. The focus option seems to make no difference to the attitude of my players. Defensive line makes no difference, my players always sit on the halfway line no matter the height / depth.
