Let us create our own Preseason Tournament
Every year in Manager Career, preseason starts almost exactly the same way: we receive three tournament invitations, choose one, and play a 3 friendly matches against teams that have already been selected for us.
After several seasons, it becomes very repetitive.
Why not give us another option: Create & Host a Preseason Tournament?
Instead of accepting one of the three invitations, we could organize our own tournament and invite clubs ourselves. Some clubs could accept, while others could decline depending on their schedule, reputation, location, or relationship with our club.
There should also be a financial side to hosting the tournament. If we choose to organize our own preseason tournament instead of accepting an invitation, the prize money we offer could come from our club’s transfer budget. We could decide how attractive we want to make the tournament.
The clubs we invite shouldn’t automatically accept either. Their decision could depend on factors such as the prize money offered, the league our club plays in, our club’s reputation, and the quality of the other invited teams.
Offer a bigger prize or run a prestigious club? Bigger teams may be interested. Offer very little? Some clubs may reject the invitation.
That would make creating a preseason tournament feel like an actual management decision with cost, risk and reward, rather than just another menu option.
Imagine being able to:
- Choose which clubs to invite
- Invite rivals or clubs from different leagues/countries
- Receive accept/decline responses
- Choose the tournament format
- Host the tournament at our stadium or country
- Compete for a preseason trophy and prize money
This would make every preseason different and give managers another opportunity to actually manage their club, rather than simply choosing between the same three types of invitations every year.
Preseason should feel like something we can plan and create, not just something we click through.
