Please Give Ultimate Team Players a Choice: Men's-Only Matchmaking

Dear EA SPORTS FC Team,

I've been playing FIFA for many years, including approximately 1,500 hours in FIFA 23. Ultimate Team has always been my favorite mode.

I love building my own squad, using the transfer market, experimenting with tactics, improving my players, and competing against real opponents.

However, the introduction of mixed men's and women's squads has significantly damaged my enjoyment of Ultimate Team.

My issue is not with women's football existing in the game. My issue is that players have absolutely no choice.

Men's and women's football are separate competitions in real life, with significant differences in physical performance. Seeing female players regularly compete on equal terms with, or outperform, elite male footballers breaks the sense of football authenticity that I personally value.

I understand that Ultimate Team is not a fully realistic simulation. However, football authenticity still matters to many players.

My suggestion

Please introduce one of the following options:

1. Men's-only matchmaking — an optional setting that matches players who use exclusively male squads against other exclusively male squads.
2. A separate men's-only Ultimate Team competition — with the same squad-building, transfer market, progression, and competitive features.

Players who enjoy mixed squads should absolutely be allowed to continue using them.

I'm not asking EA to remove female players. I'm asking EA to give us a choice.

I don't mind losing to a better opponent. Losing is part of competitive gaming, and learning from defeats is what makes improving so rewarding.

But when the game repeatedly forces me into a football format I fundamentally dislike, it becomes difficult to enjoy that competitive experience.

Community feedback

On October 15, I published a Russian-language Steam review explaining this issue.

By October 24, 105 users had marked that review as helpful, and it had generated a discussion with differing opinions.

This doesn't mean everyone agrees with my proposal, but it does show that the subject resonates with other players and deserves discussion.

I genuinely want to continue enjoying Ultimate Team. I don't want to leave the game. I simply want the option to play the kind of football I enjoy.

EA, please consider giving players this choice in FC 27 or future installments.
