Please Reconsider the “This Is a Big Shame” Commentary

There is commentary in the game where, after a player misses an opportunity, the commentator says something like “This is a big shame.”

I really think EA should reconsider this kind of wording.

There are millions of kids and younger players playing FC. Hearing mistakes repeatedly described as something to be “ashamed” of isn’t the kind of message we should be giving them. Missing a chance is completely normal in football — even the best players in the world do it.

The commentary can still be critical: “What a missed opportunity,” “He should have done better,” or “He’ll be disappointed with that.” There are plenty of ways to describe a mistake without connecting it to shame.

It might seem like a small detail, but words matter, especially when kids hear them repeatedly. Football should teach that mistakes happen and you move forward — not that making a mistake is something to feel ashamed about.
