FC 27 Is Losing Its Identity – A Player Since 2003 Is Losing Faith
I’ve been playing FIFA since 2003. That’s over 23 years of supporting this franchise. But honestly, FC 27 might be the game that finally makes me walk away.
The biggest problem? This no longer feels like football. It feels like an arcade game where abusing skill moves is more important than actual football intelligence.
I’m tired of opponents dribbling through half my team with endless skill-move combinations. Positioning, tactical awareness, passing and defensive skills seem to matter less and less. Even in Division 7, matches often feel like a competition to see who can exploit the game mechanics more effectively.
And the scorelines? Absolutely ridiculous.
I recently lost a match 7–10. Here are the statistics:
- Shots: 14–16
- Expected goals: 3.07–5.22
- Possession: 48%–52%
- Tackles: 37–12
- Goalkeeper saves: 0–4
Yes, my goalkeeper made ZERO saves from 16 shots. Not a single one.
How is this supposed to be an enjoyable football experience? Defending feels unrewarding, goalkeepers feel unreliable, and attacking mechanics are excessively powerful.
I don’t mind skill moves. I don’t mind competitive gameplay. I want a skill gap. But the skill gap should come from football intelligence, creativity, timing and decision-making – not endlessly repeating broken mechanics.
I miss the days when winning felt like playing better football.
EA, are you actually trying to create a football simulation, or are you turning this franchise into an arcade game?
I’ve witnessed 23 years of changes, improvements and new ideas. But this is not progress. You’re slowly losing the identity of the game and, more importantly, the players who have supported you for decades.
I’ve already left my negative review on the PlayStation Store. And for the first time in 23 years, I’m seriously considering making this my last FIFA/FC game.
Please start listening to your players. We want to play football, not fight against broken game mechanics.
