Devs really need to play the old games

There are plenty of videos out there that point out the good things that worked well in old Madden games. The devs really need to start watching them and start adding back in the things that worked. Outside of that, things that need fixed on the current game:

1. the mini games are crap, compared to what we had in older games. Anyone remember the way the running back drills were? This year the drills are garbage. The old Oklahoma style drill was so much more fun. Then you have the Chase and tackle drill. What a terrible drill that is. Did the devs even play that drill after they made it? It’s terrible. If the RB breaks the tackle (which happens way too much), he’s gone. Why is there not a safety or second linebacker as a backup or second level guy? The old drill was better, where there were linebackers and DBs to stop the play. 

2. Why do we have to make the game more simulation style on our own by messing with sliders? Is it really a simulation style game if it doesn’t really mimic what a real football game is like? Why do we have to change sliders and individual coverages just to get a guy to stop a drag or crossing route? Why can’t a QB throw an accurate 5 yard pass consistently? 

3. Why are receivers so stupid? Why can’t they make adjustments while running routes, so they don’t run into their own teammates? Why don’t they react to the QB scrambling out of the pocket? Not very realistic…

4. Why does a CB in deep thirds bite up on a 10 yard out and let a WR run right by him for a deep route? 

5. Why are reporters asking the same stupid questions and why do we have the same stupid answers to pick from in Franchise?

6. Why do we have the same stupid finance pages (merch, concessions, tickets) with no changes or rhyme or reason to them?

7. Why can we still not set our weekly goals without having to go through the franchise staff page? There is literally a weekly goal page on the home page of the franchise that says to push “triangle” to view the goals and when we go to the page, it’s empty. Why? What a waste of space on the game if it’s completely useless to even be there.

8. Player sorting in drafts is still horrible. Just horrible. Why can’t we sort by scheme? It’s so bad.

9. Why do receivers (while playing as user locked QB) jump up for passes they don’t need to jump up for and why do they drop the ball every single time they are touched if they jump? You telling me that a professional receiver can’t jump up for a pass and hold onto it if they are hit? Does that sound realistic? 

10. Why do superstar and X-factor traits even exist? They broke the game. It’s the dumbest thing EA has ever come up with. Why not take a page out of 2K’s book if you want the players to have extra ability by giving them badges? Sure, make a QB a little better at passing under pressure or while standing in a clean pocket, but don’t give them the ability to just have perfect accuracy on all of those throws…it’s dumb. 

11. Why do we still just have a head coach, OC and DC? Where is the ST coordinator? Where is team doctor? Where is GM? Assistant GM? Head scout? CFO? Etc. NBA 2K has all of these things…so why doesn’t Madden? Is EA really so inferior compared to 2K? I’m really starting to think so.

12. Relocation is still garbage. Another thing 2K clearly does better on. How many times do fans have to ask for EA to take a page out from 2K and incorporate these things? Play some NBA 2K and go relocate a team and just see how much better that is compared to the garbage EA gives us. These games are the same price…but one is clearly better than the other. Why is that? 

Every single year it’s the same story. The same crappy game, wrapped in a new and shiny wrapper. “But we have field sense!” Whoooooopity dooooo!!!! You all love to add the things nobody asked for to mask the fact that you don’t really care what the fans really want. 

Stop making garbage games or at least give up your rights as being the only company making simulation football games.
