Madden 24 Ban Dispute

I find myself in a frustrating situation with Madden's Terms of Service team. I've been a part of this community for over a decade, and I've always played by the rules. Unfortunately, my account was banned on 9/14/2023, and I've tried to dispute the case three times without any success. I'm reaching out here in the hope that someone might have advice or insights on what to do next.

To provide some context, I've never engaged in any activities that violate the Terms of Service. I don't have a farm account, I've never intentionally de-synced a game, and I've never purchased coins from external websites. I've put in over 130 hours into Madden 24, and I've invested my own money into building my team with cards. This sudden and unexplained ban has left me frustrated and feeling unfairly treated.

I've attempted to contact Madden's support team multiple times to understand the reason for my ban, but they have yet to provide any clarity on which Terms of Service rule I supposedly violated. It's been a disheartening experience, and I'm at a loss for what to do next.

Has anyone been through a similar situation and successfully resolved it? Do you have any tips on how to get unbanned or, at the very least, recover the money I've invested in the game?

    It is outrageous. I still don’t know why I was banned. I absolutely don’t know glitches. 

    I’ve started to get better and yes I won a few games with nice scores. I also get my butt handed to me quite a bit by really good players. 

    its supposed to be fun and we are supposed to try to get better. We are the folks they should be thanking. Paying them money and being competitive.

    Would people be interested in a lawsuit? I suspect there are a good number of people who have been unfairly banned. I also suspect a lot of people spent significant money. 

    I believe EA has been disrespectful, arbitrary in their process and this amounts to unlawful taking. It could also trigger consumer protection laws. If we didn’t violate the terms of service, they refuse to give us evidence and they still take our access and in some cases money that is in the form of points, it could be a violation. 

    I ran litigation for several multibillion dollar companies. I feel like there is a case here and maybe I can get someone to take it. 

    I mean I didn’t even receive a warning. Assuming, arguendo, I violated a rule without knowing, they should give us fair notice. I’ve read the terms 

    multiple times and the allegation about match cheating and it’s not even possible I did that.

    Let me also suggest we identify management and lawyers in the legal department and inundate them with emails.

    @Macabee1134 I reached out to the BBB early on in my struggles (about a month ago) to no avail.  I still haven't been able to speak to a human for even a second and it's been about 40 days.

    About a week ago, I opened a new ticket to warn them that my patience was waning and that I would give them 5 more days to start a real conversation with me before I wrote the whole thing off and just put in a report to the FTC.  They immediately responded to it saying they won't remove the sanction again, but I waited the 5 days I promised anyway.  Today I filed the complaint - probably won't amount to anything but who knows.

    I don't expect to get my sanction removed and honestly, because of how disgusting they have been, I'm done with Madden (and EA) now anyway - Leaving it behind with a bad taste in my mouth.  Out of principal and for the next consumer, I pushed on my end as far as I could.  I'm just a dude that got scammed out of 30 bucks by a big-name company, but if you need testimony or something to help you out with a lawsuit, I would gladly provide any and all possible details from my experience.

  • I just got banned yesterday. I play MUT with my 12 y/o kid. I play offense and he plays defense. He does all the challenges and dally missions, etc. As you must know he’s devastated by the news. Even worse he red the email we got from EA saying that we are “CHEATERS” in red capitals.I got to this forum and reading all your cases I already prepared him for the worse and told him that all the money and time invested is basically gone.

    I think we definitely have grounds for a class action lawsuit. Not only because the amount of people affected but because EA has basically neglected all the calls for a solution.

    I have another post here on answer.ea where I spoke about my experience in more detail titled "Waiting on player".  It's a small thing, but I wanted to encourage people here to go give my last post up-votes since the community manager shut down the thread after grossly misconstruing the situation.  I can't tell if the guy was just not paying attention to the full context of the conversation or if he was just doing his best to tap-dance around EA's negligence.

    This is the same here. OUT OVE NOWHERE I WAS ACCUSED OF COIN DISTRIBUTION CAUSE I USE AUCTION HOWS TO SELL CARDS I BUILT IN SET AND BOUGHT. I DIDNT KNOW USING THE AUCTION WOULD GET ME BANNED...I AM NO CHEATER ,FARM,OR NOR DO I GIVE COI S TO ANYONE... THEY CAN LOOK ON MY ACCOUNT AND SEE I HAVE NO FRIENDS.

    I would like to be part of your class action lawsuit if you proceed. I spent hundreds of dollars on this game and to be banned from the auction house for selling cards on the auction house is plain wrong. Then customer service blocks me from even emailing them to find out the thing that they said I sold to get me banned. This is bad business practices no person should be banned without 100% proof that they are in violation of the TOS.

  • They don't care, they got their money from us. Now they want to rob us of any kind of enjoyment their game temporarily bought. I've been playing madden since the first one got released, and due to this false ban and assault on my character I will be boycotting madden, along with many other combat veterans whom they have wronged. 

  • Id be down to join anything to stick it to this trash process of EA's. I got perma banned from ALL maddens ever for "match cheating" last august. incompetent CS started both my appeals simultaneously then any contact since had basically told me to * off they arent changing anything. I'd played squads and some solo battles right before the ban. They never told me what I did just regurgitated the same "well dont you see match cheating is when you do x y z thing and you match cheated" played Madden since the OG at 5 years old and MUT since it was patched into the end of Madden 11. EA's absolute trash auto ban system needs to go. and their contempt for their customers is the most disgusting thing ive seen in gaming. Banned FOREVER from every Madden until the day I die because of some trash algorithm and incompetent outsourced CS. It all should legit be illegal. Whats hilarious is Drini got banned inbetween days during the 1st MCS comp of the year for the same reasons. Of course they bent over backwards for him to be able to play day two. Then they did start correcting some disputes but since the useless CS rep started an appeal while I had my first one going somehow it was used up by the time this thing had EAs attention and those of use hit early got effed. The whole system is trash by design so a trash company doesn't have to take responsibility for their garbage practices.
