I installed the Madden 24 beta a couple of weeks ago but could not get the game to load because the anti-cheat kept giving me the 117 error code (unacceptable configuration or program found to exist). After no luck trying to use EA help and no luck with clean starts or any other method, I decided to start one of my two desktop computers with a fresh install of Windows 10 pro, and then try Madden 24 beta on that fresh install.
Madden 24 beta worked perfectly on the fresh install. So I started re-installing my other software programs to see which was the culprit. No problem with MS Office 365, no problem with Acrobat, no problem with several file utilities and other Windows external utilities.
Then this morning I installed Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro 15 and BINGO! - that is the program causing anti-cheat to throw out the 117 error. I immediately uninstalled Dragon (it was installed with Revo Uninstaller so I could be certain to get all the registry entries out of the registry). Yup, Madden 24 beta is again running just fine after uninstalling Dragon Naturally Speaking
Now the question is why would a dictation program like Dragon 15 cause the anti-cheat 117 error?
