Quick Match crossplay in Madden 24 will not work for me, help.

When I load into a game with my friend on Xbox (I am on PC), the game puts us in team selection, lets us choose our team and start the game, but when the game is about to start it says your peer has disconnected and we get no gameplay. We both have fast internet and I have restarted the game multiple times. How can I play with him?
