Unintended Dropback

Product: Madden NFL 25
Platform:PlayStation 5
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 5
What is your gamertag/PSN ID? Swolosimo
Date/time issue occurred Since the October 16th Patch Update
What type of issue do you have? Gameplay
Which mode has this happened in? Play Now
Summarize your bug After the most recent patch update, many plays now force the QB to drop-back 7+ yards. I assume this change was made to remedy the effectiveness of undercenter rollout offenses, but unintentionally affected plays like Tight Doubles Shot Fade Cross and Gun Bunch Steelers Cross. There are many other plays where this is the case but these are the two I am most aware of. Before the patch, you were able to cut these drops by pressing the left trigger or holding the left stick up, this is no longer the case and makes these plays unusable.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Call Tight Doubles Shot Fade Cross or Gun Bunch Steelers Cross
What happens when the bug occurs? The quarterback is forced to take a 6-7 yard dropback.
What do you expect to see? You should be able to cut this drop back to a traditional 5 yards.

I have explained this issue with a gameplay example in the video linked below:

  • Yes I have had this same exact problem and it's very frustrating! Please look into this. It would be nice if this was to fix the under center rollout glitch, but it shouldn't make some Shotgun passes unusable.

  • I have noticed this too. I first noticed it out of verticals in gun bunch wide, in the Packers playbook as well as others. Definitely needs to be fixed as it made previously effective plays far less effective.
