Won't Allow Franchise Mode Player Upgrade

I have 2 Skill Points available to use for my QB, and there are open slots in Scrambler to upgrade this, but when I click to upgrade the ability, it says "Not enough skill points to purchase this bucket." I clearly have the points available, but it will not allow to auto upgrade the player or for me to manually upgrade the player. How can I fix this to use the skill points earned?

In the past when this happens to my franchise QB - I'll change them to HB and spend the points there, then change back.

Yeah my game is glitched so bad it wont even let me start a new career

I've run into this problem as well with a Receiver. Not a great year for Franchise...
