Can't be a team captain

Why is it impossible to be a team captain on superstar in madden. If you make a quarterback in superstar you should automatically get team captain or at least by the second season. It’s so stupid how they choose random players on the roster when your a 99 overall with 3 super bowls and a franchise QB.
