By the time I am writing this, either the game is out or just getting to come out, so lets start like this Madden 25 sucks.
I am complaining about how a reskin of the same game for the last ten years is treated like its a new game every year.
All the new things are mostly touch ups, or new animations but nothing real brand new. A few of the other new things are more comebacks cause they once worked and now they are rebranded as new features.
Team builder welcome back the Madden after a few years of vacation, hope it was worth it but like anything time off leads to extra packages to deal with. Will team builder finally have a the team called by their name instead of home or away team. Will their name be heard at the draft instead of Jake went to nothing team.
New one handed catches, yes but really that was the big thing instead of fixing the still stuck animations bugging the game for the last ten years and more. Oh the RB can run like the real players, fakes spins and jukes off the chart and still see animations issues and the system bugging out to cover the issues. Oh one point made now was now the OL will open up tight lanes to let swifty runners through yet each time its big open holes instead and easy still to be tackled.
All the talk about Boom Tech...just lies. I am complaining about how they call it fancy names but its the hit stick and still going to be broken cause the offensive is too over powerful now. Yes timing a tackle is key but several the videos show that the tackles still are broken and basing on when you hit the stick helps it shows that the player can still break many tackles. New stick but same problems. Oh lets talk about how bad the defense was before, now it will be sad if one can play real defense. Some many offense plays in the trailers show how much its going to be a big scoring game, how easy its makes even a simple play could go to the house. I know, talking too much and too fast. basically the game is copied what college did and put some whistles in to fancy it up more. Its old madden trick from ten years ago. Its sad.
I talk about the modes but there really is no reason for it. UT will be the focus as it has been for years. All the bells and whistle for them not for anything else. I know they do some work to franchise mode, but most of it was comisc changes like finally doing something with the draft. In truth the complaints really about how the mode was one the reason for the game,. and now its taking years to make some simple updates, while calling it a step forward. Most of the stuff they took out that made the game worth it. Things like classic teams, the full history of the NFL and the hall of fame players. No create plays and playbooks not in the game for long time. Even playing the mode feels like its just there not like classic college with madden when it felt like you were part of the game.
Finally, I love Football, Loved Madden and the ability to play the game. But this 25 is not like the 25 from ten years ago. Its not better in all the wrong places. I am complaining this game should be better, should have more for a game in the next gen system but lacks really value. I hope they lose the deal and the NFL goes back to open season, it will push EA to do whats good for business not their pockets.
