Defensive switch stick Problems during preplay and beyond

the defensive switch stick is a great add but needs revamping . When you are in preplay setting up and the ball is hiked in the middle of a adjustment ( either while hitting the d-pad or the right stick ) you will be switched to another defender in the direction you hit , even happens when holding B(or O) and cycling through players with the left stick you end being switched to a random that stops the player in their tracks and often is a free play for their coverage  . 
Another thing is when controlling a Dlineman during a play like when a qb scrambles out and you press B(or O) to switch to a closer defender and if you are holding a direction (say down) to get your other defender ready to move and cut them off , they’ll give you someone playing coverage . It’s very wonky and not polished , I think they should take switch stick off the dpad and just leave it to right stick only. And or give a option to turn it off or change settings
