What has been seen from Madden in the years past has been old features that are stripped down and then re-introduced. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a very barebones version of an old team builder they have as they take the conservative route to see if it's worth putting more effort into in future years.
Being said, I'm excited to see what they bring to the table this year

When is Madden going to incorporate Expansion teams? NBA 2K has it and it is cool. The depth of coaches you can choose from is great too.
