Please add a NCAA14-style Coach Mode
Hello, I'm back requesting this for another year, because this is the single feature I want more than any other in Madden and College Football.
In NCAA Football 14, users were able to select "Coach" controls when they entered a Dynasty game, which allowed users to call plays and perform audibles and adjustments pre-snap, but after the snap the AI played out the play on the field. This applied on offense, defense, and special teams, meaning it automated kickoffs, punts, and field goals as well using the kicker's attributes.
In Madden 25 and College Football 25, we have an option in the main menu called "Coach Mode", but it is not really a coach mode, it is an "auto-pass" where the quarterback will throw the ball to his first open route. This feature is lacking in many ways compared to the NCAA14 coach mode:
- It can only be turned on and off from the main menu, meaning it is annoying if I want to use it in one league and leave it off for another league
- It does not allow the QB to move around in the pocket as a CPU QB would
- It does not allow the QB to scramble
- It does not work with RPOs or Options
- The CPU does not take full control of the ball carrier on a run play or after the receiver catches the ball, meaning they will only run in a straight line and not use any special moves
- It does not work on defense. If the cursor is over a coverage defender, they will just stand in place. Even if you place the cursor on a lineman, it means your lineman will not use any pass rush or block shed moves, making them ineffective.
- It does not work on special teams, meaning we still have to perform kicks and punts using the meter
I purchased College Football 25 in the hopes that it would have a coach mode similar to its predecessor, and was seriously disappointed that it did not. This is my single most desired feature in the current EA football games. I would pay money just to have this feature. Please, EA, I have been asking every year for at least 3 years. There are many more who want this, people who want to focus on the X's and O's of football and not stick skills. Please give us the option.
