I wanted to see if this worked for anyone else. Sometimes, we get the error "An unknown error has occurred." It is so generic that it could be caused by many things.
See if the following helps:
When you enter ranked squad, prepare quickly before the error sign shows up. When you do that, the error sign should still be on the screen.
Now, don't click anything after you have already readied up, with the error still on the screen. Let the game load by selecting your position for you, all while the error message is still on the screen.
Now, once it has selected your position for you automatically, the game will load you and your team onto the field, and boom, the error message is gone for good. If it ever comes up again, the same thing: ready up fast before the error message shows up and let it select your position for you without clicking off the error message.
Once it loads onto the field, the error message is gone. Because of it, I was off the game for two months. You just have to be patient, that's all.
when i go to click the showdown link it gives the football animation load screen then goes right into that error. I cant even select anything.

No i havent. Which sucks because now im about 2 weeks out on the new season and i spent money on my builds. Cant even play with them in showdown. Can u help?
im on PS5 and no i havent. There is no way to have to load up like people are saying. it instantly gives me that error.
Bro hear me out. When you start madden fresh, no quick resume or any of that (an Xbox feature probably on ps5 also), there's like a half a second before the unknown error will show up. That millisecond time right there is when u have to hit ready up, and you'll be able to see the check mark enabled by the ready up, mind you, all this within the millisecond window u have before the error message pops up. From there if people join the lobby and don't leave, it will auto select your position, all still while the error message is still on the screen. Now when it loads your team onto the field, viola!!!! The error message will be forever gone, and just like that you're back on ranked showdown. Check me on on the leaderboard when you're back in the game. BRUHBRUHJOHN
