Weird time warp update

Sat down to play today and got a “Madden 25 needs to update” notification. After updating I had to sign back into EA. All my saved franchises were gone. Started a new franchise and everything is different. Kick mechanics are back to how they used to be on older editions, play calling menus are different, the traditional kick-off (no landing zone) is back. Gameplay and graphics look older as well. Am I losing my mind or has this happened to anyone else too?
