Can't link my PS5 account

I just purchased the PS5 version of Madden. When I try to log in to EA's servers I get a message: "Your account credentials have expired". It then prompts me to update my password. I have done this four times but when I try to log in I still get the same message about my credentials expiring.

I went to Manage My Account and under Connections I noticed that my Playstation account wasn't linked. So I clicked the "Link" button. That gave me this error:

Linked Accounts Found

Your accounts can’t be linked because your PlayStation™Network account [name] is already linked to your EA Account for 09*****@disabled.ea.com. An EA Account can only be linked to one PlayStation™Network account in its lifetime.

I think we were living in Germany when I created my EA account, but we've been back in the States for almost 3 years. I have updated my account to where we live. I still can't log in. Any suggestions?
