    Disabling motherboard graphic adapter and insuring I had the monitor plugged into the actual video card worked for me as well.

    It still takes three or four attempts to load the damned game (crashes back to ea app, ughh) but eventually it loads.

      Try disabling your other display adapter.  Worked for me.  Madden is using multiple settings to decide which adapter to use.  Assuming you have 2 adapters.
