It’s clear the app has very little to no maintenance and is copy and paste over the years. I have to agree that an API would be a much much better solution and this app has hindered so much development on this front. The products on front of this are very good and hide a lot of the flaws the app has, but they are all held back by the lackluster experience the app.
It’s also clear there’s very little to no testing done on this app because the bugs are maddening. I have successfully reverse engineered the whole app and it’s full of even more issues and security flaws. The free agent one in particular should be fixed by now as it’s a one character fix that I was able to guess the fix on. There are even more silly bugs in the app than that one and it’s a huge convoluted mess. The release this year was config change and reskin which was disappointing to say the least.
I fully support this post and what it’s calling for, I really hope EA does something about this. If anyone is interested in ways to not use the companion app, I am happy to share everything I have done. All my work is already publicly available. You can find me on discord as snallapa
@snallapa By reverse engineered, do you mean you decompiled the code or just the functionality? And if it's the code, do you have it in a Git repository? It'd be fascinating to look at! haha

@snallapa nice! I signed up for Discord awhile ago, but no idea how to use it. When looking at the code, can you see if they removed Free Agents or just spelled it differently?
They misspelled it lol. I was able to fix that in my own implementation, among other things that were wrong
