Xbox controller using bluetooth or xbox adaptor keeps switching between keyboard and controller in menus resulting in wrong clicks and in game the icons keep fast switching between keyboard and xbox buttons.

To confirm do you use the mouse or keyboard for anything else when this happens?
If not, try running the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates after reconnect your controller and check if this continues.
everything is up to date, there are no integrity violations, this happens when just trying to use the controller, pushing A from the press any button screen to the main menu....i can see the controls switching prompts for keyboard and xbox controller as i navigate and while trying to play. Also at the team select screen when i push on the dpad to move team user selection its moving both controller and keyboard. Everything is up to date and i have no issues in other games with the gamepad working as its intended.
Fixed, cant have steam open while trying to play. This bug needs fixed in your game code.
EA Staff (Retired)Ive never changed anything on steam for controllers, its all default...i am launching from the EA App directly. I dont have this issue with madden 24/F1 24 only madden25, and it 100% has to do with steam and this game specifically as i can reproduce 100% by exiting steam and starting the game and it works fine, the second i open steam the inputs are all over the place. Me having steam open should not affect this one game out of all the games i have on steam and thru ea play pro, this is the only one with the isssue. Just to clarify i do not have or own the game on steam, i have ea play pro and am using the ea desktop app to launch and play the game...steam should have no influence over controls as it does not affect any of the other games ive played in the past.

Thanks for the additional information, we can pass this on to our team to be aware of.
In the mean time, we can see if disabling controllers or Steam overlay when the Steam client is running prevents this from happening. I know from time to time Steam's settings can take control of connected devices which might interfere with games from other clients.

No problem, ive seen a post on steam with the issue, i dont know what the fix for steam users (people who must use steam to launch the game) would be until this can get patched. Steam overlay isnt running for me in madden since the game isnt connected to steam as i dont own it there. I tried disabling steam input and restarting steam then starting madden 25 but same issue with controller going haywire....only closing steam out to play madden works for me 100%
Same issue. Madden 24 worked without any problems. PC with xbox elite v2 controller.
Was working most of the day... with occasional wrong clicks. In the settings menu I was using lb/rb to go to left and right pages... but every FIRST time i would click rb it would say "reset to default settings?". I would click no, then rb would flip the page, then the next rb would ask to 'reset' again.
now after it working for a while my a/b buttons are mapped to up and down instead of select and back. randomly changed.
will try to launch in ea app without steam.
Just want to add it doesnt completely solve the game wanting to change inputs from controller to keyboards on some menu screens. Gameplay and functionality wise tho no issues when keeping steam closed. Seems to be an issue with keeping the controller bound especially when steam is open.
