I have been dealing with the same issue,
i can't even play any game mode in MUT because i have a gap in my lineup I can't even edit because every time i try to edit my lineup i get booted to the main menu
EA PLEASE FIX THE SERVERS I PAID MONEY TO BUY THIS GAME AND INVEST MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON PACKS AND PREMIUM BATTLE PASSES JUST SO I CAN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME???
If you are able to get into your lineup screen delete your lineup and make a new one that should fix it. The issue for me is I can’t even get to my lineup to do that with out server error.
Changing team chems on Team Captain Troy Vincent caused this for me. I went into my binder and took all his team chems off and it fixed it for me.

Did you put any team chems back once you could get in?
Yes but I put team chems on the last 2 slots. The first slot is bugged for me
You can put them back, you just don’t have the same options. But yes editing the team captain chem is the fix.

EA Sports...are you going to reply to this error message and provide a fix? Our well earned money was spent on your product. We expect adequate support. Please respond acknowledging EA Sports is aware of this issue and if a solution is being worked on. It is sad and very disappointing EA Sports is ignoring us. PLEASE RESPOND!!!
I removed the Eagles Chem from Vincent, and still the problem persisted, also the 49ers chem on Joe Staley won’t disappear no matter what I do. Can somebody here please tell me exactly what you did to get this to work???
Still have the same issue. Actually got worse. Now says "Invalid Lineup Warning".
I figured out another reason for this issue…
When the Team Builder Davante Adams came out, his Raider Chemistry was glitched, and had the function of the Stocking Stuffer promo. When EA fixed this, anybody using the Raider chem on Davante may have noticed that the card would display TWO Raider logos in the binder. This was the glitch, and why the lineup screen was not coming up.
IF YOU HAVE TEAM BUILDER DAVANTE ADAMS, AND USE HIM WITH A RAIDERS TEAM CHEMISTRY, AND IF IT SHOW TWO RAIDERS LOGOS IN YOUR BINDER, DOWNGRADE IT BACK TO A JETS CHEMISTRY AND THEN CHANGE IT BACK TO A RAIDERS CHEMISTRY, SAME FOR ANY OTHER TEAM BUILDER CARD THAT MAY HAVE CARRIED THIS GLITCH. IF THERE IS NOW ONLY ONE LOGO, THE GLITCH IS BROKEN AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE YOUR LINEUP AGAIN…
