Custom Playbook Order
When creating a custom Offensive or Defensive playbooks, the Formation and Set order becomes scrambled, making it difficult to locate specific Formations, Sets, and Plays.
For example, using the stock JAX – L. Coen playbook, the Formation tab appears in a logical order:
- Singleback
- Strong I
- Gun
- Goal Line
- Hail Mary
- Special Teams
However, once a custom playbook is created from JAX and loaded into a game, the order shifts to something like:
- Hail Mary
- Special Teams
- Goal Line
- Shotgun
- Singleback
- Strong I
The order of sets within formations also becomes inconsistent, and the issue worsens as more Formations and Sets are added.
While this may seem minor, it significantly impacts usability and makes custom playbooks frustrating to navigate. As a software developer, this feels like a relatively simple fix that would have a big quality-of-life impact.
Suggested solution:
- Allow users to define the order of formations, sets, and plays manually, or
- At minimum, enforce alphabetical ordering, with Hail Mary, Goal Line, and Special Teams consistently placed at the bottom.
Ps. This happens with custom Defensive playbooks as well. Also, the Hail Mary formation should be able to be removed.
